Admission Requirements
Health Care Aide
Full-Time Program

Copy of PR Card or Canadian Passport.

Copy of High School Diploma or GED.

One letter of Reference: Either academic (guidance counsellor/teacher) or employment/volunteer (immediate supervisor).

English Language Proficiency:

Graduation from a Manitoba High School with at least one English 40s, minimum grade of 70% OR

English Language Test (no older than two years)

Accepted tests:

IELTS (General) Overall 6.5 Minimum 7.0 in speaking module

DuoLingo Post-Secondary Entrance minimum score 110.

Original copies of the Child Abuse Registry Check, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Criminal Records Check (current within 6 months).
Prior to the start of clinical practice, evidence of up-to-date immunizations must be provided to GCC. For further information regarding immunizations for healthcare professionals, please refer to the Manitoba Immunization Program Manual.

Current employer letter indicating a minimum of 1200 hours worked within the past 24 months and a position or job description; if working for multiple employers, the total hours must be at least 1200 hours.

For foreign-trained nurses, a copy of a Degree in Nursing. Degree Programs will be evaluated for acceptance to the Program.

One letter of Reference: employment/volunteer (immediate supervisor).
